Food Education is for Life!

Our informative and interactive talks help schools make a positive impact on their students’ eating habits and food choices.

At Nova Nutrition, we believe children should be informed and active decision makers when it comes to food and other lifestyle choices. We also believe food education can make a real difference to the quality of life from childhood through adulthood.

Although eating habits and food preferences are complex, schools have a unique opportunity to influence their students’ knowledge and understanding of food and the way it impacts on wellbeing. The good news is, the National Curriculum recognises and supports schools’ role in food education through food technology and design & technology classes. Our talks can complement and enhance the curriculum as well as enrich PSHE/PSE or biology classes.

School canteen audit

In support of nutrition education in the classroom, it is important to carry the healthy eating message through to the canteen. We can analyse your menu and advise on how to improve the nutritional content of meals and snacks on offer.

Talks for parents/carers

Topics include:

  • Eating well as a family
  • Healthy lunch boxes and snacks
  • Dealing with less adventurous eaters
  • Optimising restricted diet due to allergy / intolerances
  • Enhance your child’s learning

As primary food providers and role models, parents/carers have the responsibility to instil healthy eating habits in their children. However, time pressure, finances, their own food preferences, limited knowledge and confusing marketing and media messages make it a challenging mission. Our talks provide solutions and guidance to parents/carers who wish to make appropriate food choices for the whole family.

If you think parents/carers of your students would benefit from our talks, please pass on this information and ask them to get in touch with us.
